General Hospital Fantasty Event by Coastal Entertainment & Events by Wendy in Syracuse/Liverpool, NY October 19, 2019
You could not have asked for more of a beautiful autumn filled day to have our very first General Hospital Fantasy Event. Dino from Coastal Entertainment came up to partner with Wendy Shoen to introduce us to William DeVry, Kathleen Gati, James Patrick Stuart, Donnell Turner and Wes Ramsey in the Holiday Inn at Syracuse-Liverpool Conference Center. The event was split between the members and the VIP members.
The people with the platinum were allowed in at 10am to begin purchasing GH memorabilia and wait for our special guests to arrive at 11 to begin the individual autograph and photo session. Dino coached us on how to handle the photo opportunities by dividing the platinum members into 2 groups. Group 1 went with Will and Donnell and the second group went with Kathleen,,James and Wes and then we switched.
Since Will was my lead he basically helped keep the line moving along so I didn't feel proper interrupting the flow but he did comment that he liked my custom Yankee shirt. I asked Donnell if he believes Curtis could be Commissioner and he laughed and said Curtis wouldn't enjoy it. When I approached Wes I told him I've been a huge fan of his all the way back to his Guiding Light Days when he played Sam Spencer and we reminisced about his costars he was up against Laura Bell Bundy and Jordi Vilasuso andwas very touched I can recall. I told James how much I I enjoy his music and how he just sings with the piano and I told Kathleen my favorite song she sang at the Nurse's Ball was Always on My Mind when she sang to
Nathan and Britt. All three of them were kind enough to sign the photos for a dear friend of mine who didn't have the opportunity to come with me. Dino excused everyone after the platinum section ended at 12:10 and told us to come back at !;45 for the show with the VIP people.
During the show was the introduction of the stars on stage and the question and answer session which included the lucky picture contest and raffle ticket winners for certain charities which one was raising money to help Robert Palmer Wadkins, whose home was destroyed. Will would come around as Emcee of the Q and A and go around with the big microphone taking questions from the audience. There was plenty of talk between taping style while James and Will were on All My Children compared to General Hospital. Everyone is pleased to have Michael Knight on the show and how prepared he is to when he comes in. He was so gracious when he first met Donnell and told him how much he enjoys his portrayal of Curtis.
There are just so many people to thank in this story. I want to thank my brother, my niece, Amtrak, Central New York Green Taxi and Wendy Shoen for getting me safely to and from my destinations. I'd like to thank Linda Rohe and Dino from Coastal Entertainment and GHFantasyEvents with Wendy Shoen and her sister-inlaw to provide the Upstate New York wonderful entertainment. Keep up the good work everybody! I'd also like to thank Wil DeVry, Kathleen Gati ,Donnell Turner, Wes Ramsey and James Patrick Stuart for just being wonderful and giving their all with us in Syracuse and on our screens. We look forward to you every single day. Well, Events by Wendy and GHFantasy Events, lets's do it again!

Meeting Laura Wright and Steven Burton in Syracuse, NY - August 21, 2019
(Events by Wendy & Coastal Entertainment Event)
Oh what a night mid August 2019! What a very special night for me. Steve and Laura dropped their GH personnas to field various questions from the audience and share their favorite moments about being on set. They explained how rehearsals have changed while they were growing up in the genre and how the millennial actors like William Lipton and Eden McCoy look to them now as reference points of their business.
After the show we went row by row to take our photos with them. Two things came to mind; first Steve remembered me from when I saw him last year and I can only imagine how difficult it must be to remember your fans when you see millions a year. Secondly, I was absolutely thrown on how much more lovely Laura is in person. After spending some quality time with my friend Wendy and I took our leave of the theater.
I'd like to give my gratitude to the Montgomery County Express, Amsterdam Community Cab, CNY Green and Syracuse Green Taxis and Amtrak for making sure I get to my destinations safely. I'd like to thank Wendy Shoen and her entire staff of Events by Wendy for putting on such a wonderful show especially on a beautiful Wednesday night. Also much thanks to Linda Rohe and staff at Coastal Entertainment for bringing General Hospital to Wendy and closer for me to see. You all rock it! I look forward to Syracuse's first GH Fantasy Event in October. Until then, From Take2Radio, I'm David Salvagni, your reporter. Peace out!

The Events By Wendy Gathering with Steve and Bradford packed the Palace Theater in Syracuse - October 7, 2018
I'm so grateful I could make this event. The afternoon was broken into 3 sections: General, VIP and Cocktail Party and you would pay ahead of time according to your need and interest.
The General Admission was Steve and Bradford's introductory show where they introduced themselves and displayed their comic routine. Bradford opened the program by saying Steve was running behind because he was in the hair salon. LOL! During their routine Steve was telling the audience he wished his character's twin brother was more fond of him and then reenters Bradford in a blonde wig and the two of them tried to outdo each other's Jason Morgan characters.
During the interactive segment Bradford went out to the audience to get questions. The lady seated next to me had a question and Steve jokingly said to him that he was nearly sitting on my lap. After the interactive they read from their favorite moments from The Stone Cold and Jaackal Podcasts,,thanked everyone for attending and got ready for the VIP Photo Section.
Due to a large participation the VIP photos had to take place in a very orderly manner. We were dismissed one row at a time and it was very worth the wait .The guys were very accommodating and friendly to everyone. A small group stayed behind because they signed up for the cocktail party in the theater lounge. The cocktail party was much more of an intimate gathering where they could speak more with us,sign autographs and take more pictures. In good spirits I offered Bradford the opportunity to sit on my lap. he laughed along with me knowing I was teasing him from earlier. This was such a healing experience for me because both guys gave everyone a hug thanking us for attending and being great fans of the show and their characters.
I'd like to thank Linda Rohe of Coastal Entertainment for helping make this event happen,my love to Wendy Shoen and the entire group at Events by Wendy for always putting together a fantastic show and my new friend Beth for being my camera girl after my phone battery died.
I'm looking forward to coming back to Syracuse soon and until then I'm David of Take2Radio peacing out!

My First Time Seeing Steve Burton & Bradford Anderson - The Stone Cold & Jackal Tour - Rosemont, IL - August 29, 2018
Steve Burton and Bradford Anderson were at Zanies in Rosemont, IL and I finally got my husband to take me to see a show. I basically had to drag him because he doesn't watch the soaps and had no clue who these 2 guys were! lol The reason I had to have him go to the show with me is because I have disabilities and cannot go anywhere by myself. I have problems walking. I don't have anyone in my area that goes to these events so unfortunately I can't go to many. With all that said I thank my husband for taking me. That's true love! ;)
Bradford started the show as Steve was running late and according to Bradford he said Steve was getting his "tips frosted as they don't frost themselves"! Bradford came out singing and that's a great way to start the show! I love to hear him sing and only wished Steve would have sang too. These guys are so funny and I laughed the whole time! (sidenote: My husband laughed a few times too but he probably won't admit to that!) The crowd (it was a packed house) went wild!
When Steve showed up again the crowd went crazy! But who could blame them? These guys have you laughing every second they are on stage! When Bradford was pretending to be "Jason" and came out with the same clothing and a blonde wig I thought I'd pee my pants laughing! It was even hard for Steve to keep a straight face!
They allowed some of the audience to ask some questions which was really nice of them to do. Some people had a hard time calling Steve by his real name and called him Jason but it was taken gracefully by Steve.
I waited more than an hour to take a pic with the guys but it was well worth it. I had to wait until the line was at the end because like I said I have a hard time standing for a long time.
They have a show coming up on October 7, 2018 in Syracuse, NY at The Palace Theater by Events by Wendy & Coastal Entertainment with Linda. I HIGHLY recommend getting tickets to the show if you can. It's a MUST SEE show!

David Salvagni - Picture it Syracuse, NY Friday evening November 17, 2017
Roger Howarth and Michael Easton flew into New York and drove little over 4 hours north to Syracuse to be with their fans at Events by Wendy at the Palace Theater. They arrived to basically a filled bar area of all of us admiring fans and they went table to table from opposite ends of the bar to meet and greet all of us and have our photos taken with them. We all tried to move the VIP section of the event as smoothe as possible so we all could get on with the entertainment in the theater.
During the entertainment section much love came from fans missing One Life to Live. Shoutouts went to both Kassie DePaiva and Eddie Alderson on their roads to recovery. Both Roger and Michael enjoyed working with them on the show. Michael also misses working with Renee Goldsberry who played Evangaline. He marvels at what a remarkable talent she has always been and loved her performance in Hamilton. On a little more humorous note it was shared by a fan that both actors have just about shared leading ladies so to speak. Well one at least; Kassie DePaiva. According to Roger he wasn't aware that John McBain was ever with Blair Kramer and that's when Michael responded with "You we're on CBS at the time."
Working with child actors was brought up and Roger who had the opportunity to work work with three exceptional youngsters like Kristen Alderson, Patrick Gibbons, and now Hudson West gave the best answer. The child is on stage with you to lighten your workload so to speak. Their performances show no pretense and it becomes some of the best experiences in your life.
A few fans who missed the VIP section had the opportunity to get their autographs and photos after their performances. We all had opportunities to take their photos after their performance and Wendy made sure we had a couple of full group shots. Roger and Michael thanked all of us for coming and entertaining them as well. They were headed back to New York immediately after the show for their next event on the 18.
I'd like to thank all the Events by Wendy crew who was working with Linda Rohe of Coastal Entertainment for bringing Roger Howarth and Michael Easton to Syracuse. We need more involvement in the upstate area.
For Take2Radio, I'm David Salvagni and I'll see you again soon. Peace out!

David Salvagni - Roger Howarth by Events by Wendy on Oct. 1, 2016
Thanks to Wendy Shoen of EventsbyWendy and Linda Rohe of Coastal Entertainment, Roger Howarth, his fans including myself enjoyed themselves in Syracuse, NY this past weekend. What a real treat to be entertained by such a gifted talent like Roger.
We allowed everyone in The Palace Theater @ 1:20 to wait in the VIP room for Roger's arrival. Like most events with Wendy She makes sure there is a GH Themed drink. This year's special was the Franco Friz which is worth both your tickets.
Due to Wendy's smart tactics with promoting fans came in from Kentucky, Virginia and even Canada. Roger braved the highways and byways of New York to come to Syracuse from Manhattan. He was brought in about in ten minutes before 2 in the VIP room where he began meeting and greeting his fans. Wendy was shy of help so I helped out by making sure people coming in had a photo from Roger's portfolio. He spent over an hour with autographs and pictures before taking the stage and entertaining everyone.
He had taken a group of questions regarding the loss of certain cast members in short period of time which left him a little dumbfounded because he really couldn't answer them. He credits both Jean and Shelly for Franco's current storytelling and has nothing less than stellar reviews for Frank Valentini. Roger also mentioned that taping schedules are varied. After two hours on the stage Wendy reminded him that his time was just about over and she will help see him out to the parking area but as he left the stage he went around each table and thanked, hugged and shook hands with each of us.
While Wendy escorted Roger out Peter, the stage manager came out and read Wendy's appreciation of everyone that helped make this event including everyone at Take2Radio for helping with social media and ticket sales. I got choked up for all of us.
Thank you, Wendy and Linda for coming together and making this event more than just a reality. From take2radio, I'm David Salvagni! Peace out until next time!

Various fan events by Joanie Nowak
This was my first event of any type which I attended on June 25, 2013. It
was for Freddie Smith's kickstart for his web series Addicts Anonymous. It
was my very first trip to LA - my very first girls trip ever. We spent a
day on set and got to be an extra in the web series. I was able to meet
Freddie Smith, Molly Burnett & Shawn Christian from Days of our Lives! It
was truly one of the best experiences ever. (Incidentally - I thought this
would be one and done - I would never do anything like this again)

In September of 2013, just 3 months after returning from LA, I again flew
back for an incentive for Chandler Massey & Casey Deidrick's kickstart for a
music video from their band - And Still I Rise. We had lunch with both of
them and then spent almost an hour outside where we gave them personalized
band tshirts and other gifts. We bought Chandler an NFL jersey of his
favorite football player and we bought Casey a skate board (thanks to the
help of the band members who gave us ideas). Later that night, we met
Brendan Coughlin for drinks. He met us out of the goodness of his heart and
spent almost 3 hours with us. It was truly an incredible day!

My most favorite Chandler pic! We met him on Saturday -
Sept. 21st, 2013. The Better Living Book put out by Days of our Lives was
released on Monday, Sept. 23rd! Chandler & Casey graciously agreed to meet
us again so they could sign our books! We had a 5 minute window based on
the time UPS delivered them and when Chandler & Casey had to leave for an
acting class! I had forgotten to ask Chandler for a pinky swear pic (so
well know from Will & Sonny on Days) so I asked him and ended up with a
photo bomb from Casey in the back.

Greg Vaughan by Judy Inguaggiato
I met Greg Vaughan November 2003 he just came to General Hospital and was attending Super Soap Weekend in Orlando. He was the most kind hearted, friendly actor I ever met in my life. I continued to follow him at every event I possibly could attend throughout the US while he was at GH and then to Days of our Lives. He is such a great Dad to his three boys it's amazing. He is now filming Queen Sugar in New Orleans for a series on OWN in September and besides myself, his thousands of fans are waiting too.

November 2015 Day of Days Event
by Akbi Khan
Hello, take2radio fans! My name is Akbi Khan. I am a big soap fan, take2radio listener/reader, and Editor-in-Chief at letstalkaboutsoaps.com, another soap opera-related website.
Last month I flew from my NYC home to LA to attend Day of Days, celebrating Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) 50th anniversary. It was the first free soap fan event I had attended. I was relieved not to have to pay any money for it, and I hope the networks will offer us more chances to interact with our beloved soap stars without charging us (though I understand that sometimes charges will have to apply, and all the paid events I’ve been to have been excellent). That being said, I do think free events have their own idiosyncratic ways, and I
wanted to offer some advice on navigating them—while recounting all the fun I had
at LA’s DOD!
I was in LA with my good friend and soap industry mentor, Shawn Brady, head of influential Save Our Soaps (SOS) group Soap Fans United (https://www.facebook.com/groups/SFU2011/ on Facebook and SoapFansUnited1 on Twitter). After much discussion in the our hotel rooms the night before, we decided to arrive at the venue at 7:30 a.m for an event not to begin until three hours later. I threw myself on my bed and said, “Fine!” when I was tired of arguing for a later time. But that is still my first bit of advice: 1) Get there early! And don’t be too bummed when there are people there before you, because there always will be. To be honest, I really liked the cool temperature and slight breeze of a morning in the Valley!
Upon arriving at the venue, we got wedged ourselves into a crowd of people listening to the hilarious and very thoughtful Kat Widden, one of the organizers of the event. She was going over how minutiae of how the lines and photo opps and such would proceed, yelling all of this to the ever-expanding crowd with no mic, the poor thing! Shawn took my hand and led me over to her after she had finished. We introduced ourselves and thanked her for practically giving herself laryngitis for the benefit of us fans! Which brings me to: 2) Introduce yourself to organizers, security guards, assistants, etc. It’s the pleasant, friendly thing to do; they will appreciate it a lot; and they will be much more likely to help you out or give you info that could give you an edge! At this time we got our swag bags, which had some really unusual and fun items. For example, we all got legal envelope-sized folders with cards in them on which were printed pictures, names, and characters of each cast member, with plenty of room for signatures. I and many other fans found the umbrellas we got indispensable as the sun got hotter and more intense. We used them as parasols!
Just before the metal gates parted for us, letting us in to the seating area for the upcoming Q&A with the cast of DOOL, I began talking to a frequent soap fan event-goer standing next to me. She mentioned how thirsty she was, so I offered her a bottled water from my bag. I never got her name and eventually we lost sight of each other, but if you’re out there, my thirsty friend from DOD, hey! She and the friends she had come with knew a great deal about how these events usually play out and offered Shawn and I much sage advice. So: 3) Make friends with fellow fans and 4) Bring drinks and snacks.
After a break for lunch, the time for signature lines had come. The cast divided into two sets, each consisting of four groups of four members who sat at tables together. Because there were so many cast members and so many fans, getting everyone’s signature and picture was not feasible for organizers or attendees. I got in the line for Bryan Datillo, Judi Evans, Wally Kurth, and James Reynolds first, and then the one for Jen Lilley, Eric Martsolf, Suzanne Rogers, and Meredith Scott Lynn. A person affiliated with the event held our phones and took our pictures with the cast members after they signed whatever one item we wanted (no more than one, we were reminded many times). The picture part was slightly tricky, as we could not lean over the signature tables or touch the actors, but a little creativity and physical contortion (of both fans and actors!) made them work anyway. All of the actors I encountered and heard of from Shawn and others were genuinely kind, grateful, and accommodating. Even as I passed them all my business card and asked if I could
contact their manager or publicist for interview requests, they remained friendly and genial. As hard as it may be sometimes, at big, free events, one will likely have to 4) Accept that you may not get to do every single thing you want, and thus should strategize and make tough decisions. For example, I’m a big Stephen Nichols and Mary Beth Evans fan. But I was going to their paid event the next day, so
I decided not to get in their signature line at Day of Days.
Next up we fans sat in front of the stage that the cast had made their first appearances at. The emcee fielded questions from us directed at the cast. Soon, evening had come, and as the cast made its way into a nearby restaurant, Samba, for an after-party, Shawn snapped pictures of them through the window. I began tugging at his shirt hem like I child, proclaiming my need to go home and relax. And that is why, at free events, where luxurious accommodations and speedy schedules will be scarce, one must, as they great Kenny Rogers sang, 5) Know when to fold ‘em. Mind your limits, which may differ from those of others, remembering that you if you keep in the know, reading websites like take2radio.com and letstalkaboutsoaps.com, you will likely find other events to attend, one day realizing all your soap fan dreams!
November 2015 Day of Days Event

I had the best time of my life.I got to meet the amazing Billy Flynn along with Eric Martstolf, Galen Gering and Rob Wilson. I had so much fun. I got to do a lip sync battle with Billy, two songs, first one was Single Ladies, and then Pour Some Sugar on Me. Billy was amazing and we won both times! Billy is the sweetest actor I have ever met. I was so nervous when I first met him but he just makes you feel so comfortable. I had the time of my life and I also got to meet Chad's Angels that are some pretty terrific ladies that were on Billy's team too and I made some new friends! It was an 18 hour drive there and back but Billy was worth it! I also got to dance with Eric most of the night! That guy can move! Wow! I love Billy Flynn, he is the absolute best and amazing actor! It was a dream come true to meet him. I told him I loved chabby and he smiled really big.and then I gave him a gift He really appreciated the gift. He was awesome all the way around. When we were all practicing for the lip sync battle I was trying so hard not to stare into those gorgeous beautiful blue eyes of his but his eyes are amazing! I loved Boston and I loved meeting all the guys.

Greg Vaughan and Eric Martsolf are two amazing guys. Not only are they super-talented, quick-witted, and TONS of fun to hang around, they genuinely care about each one of their fans. They enjoy listening to everyone's stories, comments, and questions, always giving thoughtful advice back and taking extra time to sign autographs and take photos with them. It's a truly priceless and memorable experience to spend a day or two with these wonderfully inspiring human beings! Greg and Eric were both so gracious and kind through the entire event. Eric had fun reliving stories and walking down memory lane with us in Dollywood, as he used to perform there 20 years ago! We all thoroughly enjoyed their company and laughed the entire weekend through! For me it has been an absolute honor and pleasure to work with these two lovely gentlemen and hope to continue to do so for many years to come. October 25, 2014 - Soap Opera Saturday Men of GH
by Danielle Covich
On October 25, 2014 I was able to meet 3 of the nice guys from General Hospital, Tyler Christopher, Rick Hearst and Jason Thompson. I have been watching General Hospital off and on since 1994. I remember watching Tyler Christopher's very first scene. I remember Ric Lansing locking Carly in the panic room while married to Elizabeth and I remember Patrick being a ladies man. I have so many memories from GH. As I went into the work force it got harder to watch GH even with Soapnet. I stopped watching in 07/08. I went in the hospital in April of 2013 and I started watching GH and it took my mind off of why I was in the hospital. My mom got hooked again and she watches everyday and then I try to catch up when I can because of school. I am glad I did come back to GH ever since I have, I have been able to meet new friends and the stars I grew up watching. Social media has been a great experience because you can interact with soap stars.
It was amazing meeting Tyler, Jason and Rick . They gave us insight on the ins and out of filming a soap. How their lives have changed because of soaps. A very cool thing about fan events is listening to the creative and unique questions fans asks. At an other event, I had asked a question and the star I had asked said, "you and your questions" that is what I love the most is the interaction with these normal people who have incredible jobs.

by David Salvagni
Hello everyone, it's Dave Salvagni from Take2radio. I send you all of apologies for being late with my entry because I've been dealing with some minor health problems which have taken it's toll on my concentration but I stray.
Due to the scheduling of the event I knew I was going to be in Syracuse for two nights to be safe. I previously booked the Best Western Plus on the Carrier Circle for Friday and Saturday. With the gathering slated to begin at twelve noon on Saturday,Wendy's son, Andrew came after me an hour earlier and we headed to the Palace Theatre. In short of an hour, Tyler Christopher, Rick Hearst and Jason Thompson were due to arrive from Rochester. It is basically a little over an hour drive. While waiting guests were treated to deli wraps from the tavern. By half past the hour guests were led into the main theatre area to specified tables in front of the theatre while the men prepared to get ready.
At noon Christina, one of EventsbyWendy's loyal and energetic staff took center stage to announce the Men o fGH. For an hour and a half audience and talent were treated to a fun filled question and answer session. The men took their questions in stride. One particular question that was relayed to Tyler was what it's like working with Nicholas, who portrays his son Spencer. The answer was and I'm paraphrasing; he is a very smart young man wise beyond his years.
The photo and autograph section began right after a brief intermission. Each table was called one by one to meet and greet with the Men. Fortunate for me, I was seated at the first table. After years of going to these events I must say that my emotions have learned to stay in check. Rick Hearst has been in and out of daytime for a little more than 25 years and I've been familiar with his work so this was a double pleasure for me. However,I have to say that it was Jason Thompson who actually won me over with his warm, genuine and open personality and not to mention that he remembered meeting me previously. Tyler, in my opinion, was reserved and quiet due in part that this was his event so he held it together.
Due to the Men's transportation schedule I was unable to get an interview with them but I did not leave you empty handed. I left some video footage and a little surprise by two of the audience members.
Bare with me, everyone for I have plenty of gratitude to hand out. If it wasn't for my friends Andy and Shirley then there would not be anything to write about so thank you for safely and swiftly getting me to Syracuse. Thanks to The staff at Best Western Plus for two beautiful nights in a room with a view. I'd like to thank Linda Rohe of Coastal Entertainment, the EventsbyWendy and The Palace Theater Staff for coming together and bringing Tyler, Jason and Rick to Meet their Syracuse fans. Most of all my sincere thanks to Wendy Shoen and her family who made my two days in Syracuse familiar and comfortable. Terrific show Wendy! We did it before and we can do it again!

Soap Opera Saturday, July 12, 2014 with Ryan Paevey at Sophistications Jazz Cafe and Lounge by David Salvagni
Hey everyone, it's Dave Salvagni from Take2radio.
It surely has been a while since I came on the screen and I I have great news to share with you. Last Saturday afternoon I was fortunate to meet and greet with Port Charles' newest detective Nathan West who is serenely portrayed by newcomer Ryan Paevey. Thanks to Wendy Shoen's new venture EventsbyWendy we all gathered at Sophistications Jazz Cafe and Lounge from 2:45-6pm in downtown Syracuse,New York. We early birds who made it by 2:45 were fortunate to have one on one time with him and we were dismissed from table to table to dish with him in a secluded area of the cafe.
We then went back to our tables and Ryan with help from Wendy's assistant,Christina began his question and answer session. We learned some fascinating facts throughout this time. While rehearsing his lines he's very accustomed to memorizing everyone else's dialogue in his scenes just as easily as his own.Since Ryan's mother was an English teacher he has been conditioned to be grammatically correct and eloquent. When younger he sustained a shoulder injury through training as a professional weightlifter.
As the event prepared for a close we all took our turns with him in line for autographs and photo opportunities. We had approximately 2 photographs taken with Ryan with our own camera with help from Christina and then two were taken by Wendy's daughter,Ariel. After the individuals were taken Wendy arranged for the group photos to be taken, the guests,EventsbyWendy staff and then the Sophistications staff.
When the event drew to a close "the Crew" got the opportunity to interview Ryan. As a whole I am impressed by the daytime drama business and sometimes live my life accordingly. However,I was never so impressed by this young man's demeanor which was serenely,(and yes I used the word again) comforting and gracious.Ryan Paevey is a "smoking" talent whose flame the viewers have yet to see. He's going to make it after all!
In closing I'd like to show my gratitude to Wendy,Adam and Mari Shoen for arranging my transportation to and from the Amtrak station and the Staybridge Suites in Liverpool. Also,my thanks goes out to the Staybridge staff for making it a comfortable stay. What can I say about the EventsbyWendy staff other than you're all beautiful for arranging a great gathering. Thanks to Sophistications for granting all of us to use your venue for the event. Finally,my sincere thanks to Ryan Paevey for being who you are. Keep on doing what you're doing.

DIANE KATTAR MEETS PORT CHUCK IN BOSTON
Well, it was a lovely Sunday afternoon, and my dear friend Jane and I made our way into Boston to see Bradford Anderson, Scott Reeves, Brandon Barash, and Steve Burton, aka Port Chuck. We parked the car and were walking aimlessly looking for the Wilbur theater. Lo and behold we saw a theater, with a sea of people lined up, waiting to enter. We weren't certain if we were in the right place, and asked a gentleman who he was waiting to see, and he replied, "Elvis"! I initially thought perhaps an Elvis impersonator, but he laughed and said, "No, we're waiting to see Port Chuck"! Well, we then knew we were in the right place! Evidently, the band was late, so we fans stood for quite awhile. The crowds were massive, going all around the building in at least quadruple file, and I couldn't believe how popular they were.
Finally we entered this beautiful, well appointed old Boston theater, and the show began. The theater was absolutely packed, and the fans screaming before, during, and after each song was astounding! One might have thought it was The Beatles!
They are enormously talented, and put on a great show! They were so kind and welcoming to the audience, and thanked us several times for coming and supporting them. I seldom go anywhere, but I was so glad I had this marvelous opportunity to see them.
When the performance ended, the people holding VIP seats had the honor of meeting them, and having a photo taken with them. After such a riveting performance, they had to be exhausted, but didn't show it, and again there were many, many people waiting to get a photo with them. My friend Jane and I were so nervous waiting, we could hardly contain ourselves. Finally our moment.... I stood in the middle of them, and someone was assigned to take our phones to snap the photo. When it was finished they thanked me for coming to their concert. They were so kind, sweet, and really appreciate their fans! I'll never forget that day! Talented, kind, and humble....

Jewell Meets Doug Davidson at The Young and the Restless Fan Club Dinner
On August 24th,2013 I attended my first The Young And The Restless Fan Club Dinner.
They also celebrated their 40th Anniversary.. I thought it was put together very nicely, there was a huge screen and they showed clips throughout the 40 years.
I thought it was great to see that, being only a 2 1/2 year viewer, they also had a tribute for Jeanne Cooper, it was beautiful and touching, brought tears to my eyes,I felt her presence in the room.
When Dinner was over everyone got in line to meet the actors, what was nice about this event, fans were not rushed.
It was my turn to meet Doug, he looks at me and says Jewell! He recognized me from Twitter, which I thought was cool.
I handed him his gift, and his reaction was priceless and I was touched that he loved it. I gave him a framed photo of himself and Jeanne Cooper, I knew how close he was to her and thought that would make a perfect gift.
I have met 32 actors from other soaps, and Doug is by far the most genuine and sweetest person I have ever met.
He has such a kind heart,he truly cares about the fans, always takes the time to talk to each fan and makes them feel important.
He is also affectionate and full of love which I like.
I'm thankful everyday that I got to meet such a beautiful human being.
A couple of months ago I made a birthday video for Doug, that included his fans, and you can see the love they have for him and he has for the fans..

Sabine at the Days of Our Lives Event in Atlanta, GA
On August 25, 2013 I got to attend the BEST fan event I've been to so far! Don't get my wrong, I've loved ALL fan events I've been able to attend! However, this one was the most intimate, personal event I've been to, to date! There were only about 15 people total at the lunch. I got to meet Jen Lilly, Chandler Massey, & Blake Berris for the first time at this fan lunch; plus I got to see Casey Deidrick for the second time! Each actor was seated at a table with their name on it & I was assigned Casey's table to start with. However, after so much time they switched the table each actor sat at until they had rotated to all four tables. I sat next to the actors each time. It was amazing to sit & just chat with each of them without being rushed through a line or have many other fans around to take their attention away. There were only four other people sitting at the table with me & one of them was part of the event organizing team. I had really nice conversations with each actor. I was especially excited to meet Chandler, who's from a suburb of Atlanta that I know well. Casey told me about some of the auditions he's been on since leaving Days & said he's definitely not going away from acting anytime soon. Blake's birthday was on the Saturday before the event, so it was a partial celebration for him & they had "birthday pie"! LOL I gave him a card & discussed how Virgos rule, since I'm also one! Jen was as sweet as pie & had to give everyone a hug! A really fun bit of trivia is that Jen has a huge crush on Shawn Christian! I was able to show off my Days Scrapbooks to all the actors & they loved them! Jen couldn't stop drooling over my photos of Shawn! LOL She even knew that I used Creative Memories scrapbooks, which really tickled me! All four of the actors were so sweet & enjoyable to chat with! The event was totally worth every penny I spent!
Thank you Sabine for sharing your blog about the event & photos!

David Salvagni Meets the General Hospital Past Cast in California!
Okay, I told a little white lie and said I’ll see you in November. On July 28 I attended General Hospital’s Past Cast Event which was a part of their Fan Club Weekend. This section of the weekend only comes every five years and it happened to fit pretty well in my California itinerary. Since I was with the rest of my family we stayed in a hotel in Pasadena which was about twenty-five minutes (in regular traffic)from the Sportsman’s Lodge and Event Center in Studio City. My family dropped me off at the lodge around five minutes to ten in the morning. I was more than overwhelmed because I had no idea where to head in even after following the signs. Genie Frances was hosting her event in another room of the lodge during the same time as The Past Cast event. I came completely unprepared for this event because I only had about two dollars and fourty-five cents in my wallet so that excluded me from participating in any silent auction.
After a rather decent chicken luncheon everyone was finally introduced to the cast by this year’s emcee,Wally Kurth(the second Ned). The cast was made up of actors who no longer are contracted with General Hospital,Port Charles and Night Shift as far back into the 1970s. Wally then read a couple of letters from A Martinez(Ex-Roy) and Stuart Damon(Alan Q) who sent their regrets for not being able to make the luncheon. Wally, then reintroduced the cast one by one and they told us what they are presently doing. Some were no longer in daytime, some were retired and no longer in the business and some were building other businesses while waiting for their next break.
The cast took a brief intermission so they can prepare their tables and we needed to remain seated at our tables until further notice. The escorts eventually allowed us to leave our tables and make our rounds to collect our autographs and take our pictures with our favorite personalities. It was the final two hours of the luncheon sowe all had to make the best of it. There was no possible way you could get every single member because there were certain aspects you needed to consider such as the length of the line and the time. I managed to hit eight of the past cast members with one of them being one of Take2Radio’s former guests, another who was a family favorite on another drama and one who was an eleven year old boy’s dream coming true. Just follow the photo trail and you’ll find the answers to my riddles.
I’ve been to other fan club luncheons in the past but this was probably the first and last one in California so it will be an experience I’ll never forget. For Take2Radio,I’m David Salvagni. Have a Blessed Summer!

David Salvagni meets Lisa LoCicero and Scott Reeves at Soap Opera Saturday Event! The event was put together by Event Coordinator Wendy Shoen at the NBT Bank Stadium!
Lisa LoCicero, David Salvagni, Scott ReevesDavid's interview with Scott Reeves! |
Hey everyone,I’m back from yesterday’s Soap Opera Saturday event with General Hospital’s Lisa Locicero (Olivia) and Scott Reeves (Steve Webber) at NBT Bank Stadium in good old Syracuse,New York. For a quaint luncheon that was supposed to be held from one until two Scott and Lisa helped our group carry over another ninety minutes. We cried,we laughed and reminisced about what we liked and disliked. The Hank Sauer Banquet staff rolled out a delicious spinach and cheese fondue on sourdough crackers followed by a garden vegetable and fruit salad. The main course was what I call a pasta primavera.
We were thoroughly entertained and especially me being the only male patron. Lisa simply knocked me over with her beguiling beauty and even more so after she gave us all a hug upon welcoming us. Scott, being the gracious guy he is greeted all of us with a hearty handshake. Here’s a little secret for you. Scott and I briefly connected through twitter that morning so he knew I was attending. Prior to the autograph signing Scott surprised everyone by taking out his guitar and sang a little country which I needed to capture immediately on video. How many chances does a person receive like this? We immediately followed into the photo and autograph line with our cameras but Wendy and staff provided everyone with not only a “Olivia/Steve T-shirt” but a company photograph for everyone who provided their e-mail address. As this part of the event was drawing to a close Wendy, the coordinator, made possible for me to Take2Radio’s first video interview. The main intention was for both Scott and Lisa to join me but time was short for all concerned so I was graced by Scott’s company. Well now where does my gratitude lie? I’d like to express my thanks to Linda Rohe of Coastal Entertainment for helping to bring Lisa and Scott to Syracuse. My gratitude also goes out to Wendy Shoen and all her friends and staff of The Syracuse Chiefs Baseball club for making me feel so welcome during my stay in Syracuse. Last but certainly not least I want to thank Lisa Locicero and Scott Reeves for making us a very joyous segment of their day. Well this concludes my story for the time being. For Take2Radio, I’m David Salvagni ...and I’ll see you in November. ~wink~ David Salvagni |
David Salvagni meets Jason Thompson and Dominic Zamprogna of General Hospital at Soap Opera Saturday! David also got a chance to speak with Wendy who is the event coordinator for Soap Opera Saturday in Syracuse, NY at the NBT Bank Stadium!
David Salvagni meets STEVE BURTON at
"JASON MORGAN FAREWELL TOUR"
It was an unusually pleasant November afternoon and I was on my way to my first General Hospital event in Syracuse, New York which is just a little more than ninety minutes away from where I live. Since I don’t drive myself my brother offered to take me and wait in town for me until the event ended. The event was sponsored through Coastal Entertainent and it was part of Steve Burton’s (Jason Morgan) Farewell Tour. The event was a combined cocktail hour and buffet lunch beautifully mastered by Wendy Shoen of the Syracuse Chiefs Ladies of Summer Baseball Club. I couldn’t believe how beautiful the Hank Sauer Room was and it was directly inside Alliance Bank Stadium.
Steve’s event was divided into two sections. The first part was the VIP cocktail hour which those selecting that hour would be able to meet and greet with Steve before lunch. There were at least thirty-five of us in that section. Believe me ,it’s good to beat the rush before the lunch crowd came. It’s understandable that some couldn’t afford both the VIP and the buffet lunch and those members came just for the buffet at the second hour and Steve saw them after lunch was served and dining was completed.
In between photo opportunities Steve greeted everyone with sheer excitement and pleasure and spoke on how he appreciated everyone’s support of him during his twenty-one years on General Hospital. He went to say how he believed that ABC had the power of three with All My Children,One Life to Live and General Hospital and sad to see it was no longer there. Steve was gracious and did his very best to field everyone’s questions. While I really had no real questions for him during that time I did see him just after my photo opportunity to thank him for giving the enthusiasts the best twenty-one years of quality entertainment.
I have been an enthusiast for Steve long before his General Hospital days and it’s a day that I’ll never forget. I’d like to give my thanks to Linda of Coastal Entertainment,Wendy Shoen, one of the nicest ladies I’ve ever met and to Steve Burton for being quite the gentleman. For Take2Radio,I’m David Salvagni. Have a Blessed Day!

Jewell meets Bobbie Eakes at the ROCK THE SOAP CRUISE
I heard about this on line radio show called Star Dish back in 2009, I called in to talk to the Divas Of Daytime, I spoke with Bobbie Eakes, I was so nervous talking on the radio, I don't even remember what I said, she told me about a soap event Rock The Soap Cruise.. I decided to attend, this was in March 2009, that was the first time meeting Bobbie, I was introduced to her and she said Jewell!! She had remembered me from talking to her on Facebook. She is one of the sweetest people I have ever met, she is always so happy to see her fans. I have been fortunate to see her once a year since 2009, I was lucky and got to see her twice in 2012.. I had gone to the Divas concert in June in Palm Springs, the best concert that have had yet, I was waiting my turn in line to see the Divas, she yells Jewell! Get up here.. I recently just saw her in December at the Martin Family Holiday Party, which where this photo was taken.. I'm very thankful to know her almost 4 years now, besides being so sweet and a great actress.. She uses her fame for doing good, she is a spokes person two charities, AHope and Merain Bingtang Foundation ... http://www.bobbieeakes.com/
MICHELLE MEETS Y&R HEARTTHROBS AT FAN EVENT!
Sabine meets 'Days of Our Lives' favorites
at cast book signing
It was July 2011 & I had finally watched Days again for the first time in many years one Friday afternoon while on hiatus from working. Little did I know, how fortuitous it was for me to be watching that particular day! I happened to see some of the most beautiful words scrolling across the bottom of my screen, "Monday 8/15/11 meet five Days actors including Drake Hogestyn & Patrick Muldoon in Duluth, GA"! I stared in amazement, not sure if I was imagining things. Once Days was over I quickly got on my computer & searched the internet for more information about this event. It was real, five Days actors were coming to MY state of GA for a book signing! I was so excited, my dream of meeting Days actors was finally coming true! As the time drew near on that Monday, I got more & more nervous! Luckily I met a wonderful fellow fan who was old hat at these events & I chatted with her while waiting in line, which helped calm me down. I met, in exactly this order, Patrick Muldoon, Susan & Bill Hayes, Kate Mansi, & Drake Hogestyn. I was the most excited to meet Patrick, Drake, & the Hayes' from being a long time Days fan dating back to 1990! I must admit, I wasn't too familiar with Kate Mansi because I hadn't been watching Days since she started to play the role of Abby Deveraux. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting all five of these wonderful actors & it started me back watching Days again! Patrick was extremely handsome & very sweet! The Hayes' were so down to earth & fun! Kate was very nice & beautiful! Drake was super adorable, handsome & very good to all his fans, causing the line to back up so he could tell everyone stories! One of the best parts of this event, it was completely free! Of course I had to buy the Days 45 Anniversary Book before the event so I could have it signed by everyone since my Days books were boxed up in storage! LOL It was a very memorable day that spawned a lot more wonderful memories that are still taking place today! I'm on Twitter because of that event & tweeting all my favorite actors, not just Days stars! I even started a fan account for Patrick because there wasn't a fan presence for him & he had made such a wonderful impression on me that day! Being on Twitter has sent a snowball effect of so many more Days fan events, getting to meet other Days actors & even being asked to start two fan accounts for two non-Days actors! I will forever cherish that wonderful August day & all the Days of my life to come!
Ava & Michael Damian work a Thanksgiving food drive
Ava had a wonderful experience with her long-time favorite daytime star, Michael Damian, at a food drive that was held last Thanksgiving in Los Angeles, CA, at the Smart & Final location. She drove all the way from the San Francisco Bay area to Los Angeles to be part of the event. The food drive took place over a weekend. Many items were donated and helped to fill the huge truck that was made available for the event. As Ava described it, "I was so glad to be a part of it. It made me feel so good inside, knowing so many people wouldn't be going hungry this past Thanksgiving. The end results was astounding!"
